Weston Angling Association is a vibrant fishing club based in Weston-super-Mare, welcoming anglers of all ages and experience levels. Whether you're just starting your journey or an experienced rod-handler, our club offers a warm, inclusive environment to enjoy the sport, make friends, and grow your skills.
Established circa 1899, the club has a proud tradition of supporting both junior and adult anglers.

A: You can purchase a permit or membership online through our [Permits page], which gives you access to all our waters and club activities.
A: Yes. All anglers aged 13 and over need a valid Environment Agency rod licence in addition to a club permit.
A: Members have access to a wide range of venues including stretches of the River Axe, Old Axe, North & South Drains, Summer Lane, Locking Pit, and Mendip Spring.
A: Yes, our junior coaching programme is run by trained, DBS-checked volunteers and qualified coaches, making sessions safe, fun, and inclusive for children of all abilities.
A: Not at all. Our matches welcome anglers of all levels — from those trying their first competition to seasoned match fishers.
A: Yes, several venues such as Summer Lane, Locking Pit, and Mendip Spring are open year-round. River sections follow the traditional closed season (15 March – 15 June).
