Learn to Fish with Weston Angling Association

Safe, Fun, and Inclusive Coaching for Juniors

Weston Angling Association is committed to helping young people discover the joy of angling. Our junior coaching programme is run by trained, DBS-checked volunteers and Angling Trust–qualified coaches, ensuring every session is delivered safely and with the right level of support. Children are introduced to the basics of fishing in a fun and accessible way, from learning how to set up a rod, handle fish carefully, and choose the right bait, to understanding water safety and respecting nature. Sessions are structured to suit complete beginners as well as juniors who want to develop their skills further. We believe fishing offers more than just catching fish — it builds confidence, patience, and friendships. Our aim is to create a welcoming environment where every child feels included, supported, and excited to return to the water. Parents can be confident that safeguarding is at the heart of what we do, with clear procedures, risk assessments, and friendly volunteers on hand to help every step of the way.
