From the flowing River Axe to the tranquil stillwaters of Locking Pit and Summer Lane, Weston Angling Association looks after a wide variety of fishing venues across Somerset. Whether you’re a match angler, a pleasure fisher, or a junior just starting out, our waters offer something for everyone.
About Weston Angling Association
Weston Angling Association is proud to manage a diverse portfolio of fishing venues across Somerset, offering something for every angler. From the flowing stretches of the River Axe and its historic Old Axe backwaters to the tranquil stillwaters of Locking Pit and Summer Lane, our waters are open to members and day ticket anglers alike.
We also provide access to some of the county’s most productive drains, including the North Drain and South Drain, which offer excellent year-round sport for silver fish, bream, perch, and pike. For those who prefer stillwater angling, Mendip Spring and Summer Lane provide relaxed, easily accessible fishing, while our rivers and drains continue to challenge match anglers and pleasure fishers who enjoy the variety of natural venues.
Our mission is to ensure that all anglers — from juniors learning the basics to adults competing in matches — have safe, welcoming, and well-maintained waters to enjoy. By joining Weston Angling Association, you become part of a community that values tradition, encourages the next generation, and works hard to protect and promote angling for the future.
