Weather: Sunny but challenging
Anglers: 9 competitors
Method: Pole-only match
A bright and sunny day greeted the nine anglers at Medip Springs, but despite the pleasant weather, conditions proved tough with fish reluctant to feed consistently. The stillness of the water and high pressure made for a testing match, where small adjustments and patience were key.
Dave Collins took top honours from peg 6, putting together a well-earned 17lb 12oz to secure 1st place. His measured approach and accurate feeding helped him find a rhythm when others struggled.
Section Winners:
π― Harley Dixon β 13lb from peg 7
π― Mark Thorne β 10lb 2oz from peg 4
Both anglers worked hard for their section wins, making the most of short pole lines and light rigs to tempt wary fish.
All weights were achieved using the pole, showcasing the effectiveness of the method even in difficult conditions. While the lake didnβt give up its fish easily, the match was competitive and enjoyable, with every angler contributing to a great day out.
